Microblogging

Software Mastodon

Mastodon is an open source social network. How it differs immensely from other micro-blogging platforms such as Twitter or Tumblr is the fact that it is decentralized, meaning there is no main server that is central to its operation. So anyone or any group can run an instance of Mastodon and host it for their own community. We at servus run one of those instances for you.

Despite this decentralization, instances and their users can communicate with each other beyond the boundaries of their own instance, forming an even larger community.

The Servus Approach

The following rules are a (non-exhaustive) list of behaviors that, at the discretion of instance administrators, may result in the deletion of Toots, the muting or suspension of accounts.

Please report any behavior that bothers you. We will keep your message confidential.

  • The protection of the privacy of all users is important to us. Please remember this in all your postings.
  • We do not tolerate harassment and stalking.
  • Don’t turn to people who have made it clear that they don’t want contact.
  • We do not tolerate racism, sexism, verbal abuse, discrimination of sex and sexual minorities.
